Art Exhibition

To bring a close to our week of art we created a whole school exhibition in the all to display all classes hard work.

Artist Visit July 2019

For this years art week the children were lucky enough to have a visit from local artists. The ReUsery is a new non profit organisation based in Redfield. They promote sustainable development through reduce, reuse, repair, upcycle, and recycle initiatives. They run and host various inspiring sustainable lifestyle workshops, reuse craft classes and some free skills swap sessions from our studio on Church Road. As a whole school we collaborated in a project to create totems that represent our current issues regarding sea pollution.

Walk to school week- Street party

To celebrate Walk to School week we were supported by the organisation Living Streets to hold our own street party. Walk to School week is an important initiative which encourages more children and parents to take a healthy approach by walking to school. It also helps to highlight traffic congestion outside school. These are both important and ongoing focus’ for the school. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the street party and participated in the treasure hunt, chalking, crafts, obstacle course and meeting Strider.

Science Week 2019

Thanks also to the British Science Association for their generous grant.

Thanks also to the British Science Association for their generous grant.

The theme of this years’ science week is ‘Inventors’.

Each year group has been set a challenge such as making a magnetic game or a gadget with an electric switch. The week kicked off with an amazing assembly by Ian Dunne of Doodle Science Ltd and Geoff the Robot and throughout the week all classes will be designing their inventions for a grand show on Friday.

Our thanks to Ian Dunne and the staff at Redfield ET for their inspiring ideas and hard work.

Football Kit/Equipment Handover day

12 of our keen Y3 and Y4 footballers had the opportunity to try on our brand new football kit presented to us by our very generous sponsors The Energy Check. Our account manager Lee Patterson made the long journey from Newcastle down to Redfield to meet with the children and get involved in some of our fun football games, giving the children a chance to say a HUGE thank you!

As well as supplying us with these amazing resources, The Energy Check have set up a domestic switching scheme with Educate Together. This means that for every household that switches with them and quotes the PROMO code ETAT, the Trust will receive £20.

If you are looking to move utilities supplier and support the school in doing so, please contact The Energy Check directly on 0800 031 4800 or go to their website and use the PROMO code ETAT.

This will be a massive help to all of our schools, so please let us know if you make the switch!
