Welcome to our school.
Welcome to Redfield Educate Together Primary Academy. We opened in 2014 and now have five year groups: Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4. We are growing each year taking in 60 children to Reception.
We are part of the Educate Together Academy Trust. Our unique ethical curriculum and our core principles are enabling us to create a learning environment that nurtures, encourages and builds the skills children will need in our increasingly diverse and globalised world. We are an equality based school where no child is an outsider and we learn together to live together. We aim to develop the whole child, encouraging their individuality, respecting each child's identity and respecting that of their family equally.
We work hard to create a positive, comfortable atmosphere. The underlying concept is that human diversity enhances life, enriches culture and provides huge educational resources for current society and its future social, cultural and economic prosperity.
Our core principles are:
· Equality based i.e. all children having equal rights of access to the school, and children of all social, cultural and religious backgrounds being equally respected
· Co-educational, all children are encouraged to explore their full range of abilities and opportunities
· Child-centred, in that we put the children at the heart of every decision and activity. If it is not for children’s learning or welfare then why do it?
· Democratically run with active participation by parents, pupils and the community in the daily life of the school, whilst positively affirming the professional role of teachers
We actively encourage and teach children to be active participants in our world, questioning and reflecting on all that life brings them.
Our ethical curriculum Learn Together is taught every day with the National Curriculum integrated into it. This means that the children will be ‘secondary ready’ with their core skills of Maths, English and Science and will also have a range of other skills to enable them to be proactive citizens. High standards in academic and non-academic subjects are the expectation.
We actively seek to question whether what we do is for the children's learning and the children's welfare. If it isn't then we question why we are doing it. We believe it is important to have high academic standards and maintain it is possible to achieve this alongside a creative and ethical curriculum.
We welcome visitors to our school where you can see for yourselves if we are achieving what we have set out to do.

What is the school like?
The school has many similarities with other Primary schools, however it has some key differences. The foundation of the school is that children of all social, cultural and religious backgrounds are respected and have equal rights. We teach the National Curriculum and alongside it a broad ethical and moral education curriculum. The school is child-centred, democratically run and actively encourages parental involvement in all aspects of school life. It is the focus on this Learn Together curriculum, the celebration and depth of learning about others and the unique ethical curriculum that sets an Educate Together school apart.
Currently we have five year groups (Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4) and are growing with a new reception class each year until we are a full 420 pupil primary school.
