Wellbeing

At Redfield Educate Together, we promote positive mental health and wellbeing for our whole school community (children, staff, parents and carers), and recognise how important mental health and emotional wellbeing is to our lives, as with our physical health.

We weave positive mental health and wellbeing into daily learning through our ethical curriculum, assemblies, teaching and relationships, as we know that children’s mental health is a incredibly important in their overall wellbeing and can affect their learning and achievement.

The Department for Education (DfE) recognises that: “in order to help their children succeed; schools have a role to play in supporting them to be resilient and mentally healthy”. We also have a responsibility to ensure that children learn strategies to maintain positive mental health, what affects their mental health, how they can help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues, and where they can go if they need help and support. We regularly teach zones of regulation and regulation strategies to support children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Please speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance if you have concerns around your child’s mental health or emotional wellbeing.

We have put together some links to online platforms with advice and support for you and your child’s wellbeing.
